The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF) is releasing new funds for energy-saving home improvements, and consumers interested in taking part should act quickly to avoid missing out.
On 9am on Wednesday the 10th December, the GDHIF released a further £30 million in funds to help people improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
The scheme has so far proved extremely popular, with the previous £120 million released in July this year fully allocated within weeks.
The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund
The GDHIF was launched in June this year to help people reduce their energy bills. Under the scheme, householders can now receive:
- up to £4000 towards solid wall insulation
- up to £1000 for installing to measures from an approved list
- up to £100 refunded for their Green Deal Assessment
- up to £500 more if applying within 12 months of buying a new home
Of the £30 million that will be released on Wednesday, up to £24 million will be allocated for solid wall insulation and a further £6 million will be offered for two of the measures from a list of home improvements available under the scheme.
Householders can apply for GDHIF funding for solid wall insulation and/or any two energy saving improvements from the approved list which includes:
- cavity wall insulation
- condensing mains gas boiler
- secondary glazing
- double/triple glazing (replacing single glazing)
- flat roof insulation
- replacement warm air unit
- fan-assisted storage heaters
- energy efficient replacement doors
- floor insulation
- room-in-roof insulation
- waste water heat recovery
If you're thinking of applying, it's a good idea to get in quickly, as once the funding for each category has been committed, no more applications will be taken.

A new Green Deal Advice Report (GDAR) & Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is required to access funding. We can supply both at our current offer price of £90.
